FESTIVAL- MAMA NEGRA FESTIVAL

In the city of Latacunga there is a

festival called La Mama Negra, it is a celebration made in honor of "La

Virgen de la Merced". It happens every November where people take roles

like a Captain, Star Guardian, or the principal character: La Mama Negra. The

streets where they had in their course are closed and all thecity goes to see

them riding horses with music and joy. They are not alone because there is

troupes dancing folclorical music until the characters make their apparition.
